Sea and beach

One of my favourite subjects to paint is the sea.
I used three clouds to give a backup to the three sailingboats in the front and the white ones at the horizon.
The white stripes in the left corner are important as well; it gives more tension to the painting.
I was inspired for this painting by a work of J. Weisenbruch.

John Sargent

This was difficult and took much time, especially the faces.
But working with the colors/ paint and bringing my own touch in it
gave me much satisfaction.
The title is: Oysterpickers at Cancalle. Which is in France/Bretagne.
The composition of the group persons is done fabulous by J.S.

A composition of my own

This is a good example of a composition of which I am very pleased.
I made it direct in a little harbour nearby.

Composition

Here you can see how magnificent a composition of I. Israels can be. I think a photograph is used here?
Later on I will show you my finished painting of it.

Welcome to my gallery

With this first painting I welcome you to this gallery.
In 2009 I took up painting again , after seeing an exibition of Isaac Israels in the Hague's museum.
I found his compositions very well done (i'm bad at drawing). But I was disappoited by the lost of the color-brightness. So I decided to do it over again ( on my way) and his paintings became teaching-material for me.
Besides this impressionist-subject I do my own original painting.
